As impassioned as we are
about the green icon in our society,
we should be more so
about the state of our home.
It Is here that we live and breathe
among the stars of the greater good,
teaming with life so intense,
yet dying because of greed's lust.
We shall fall short of our efforts
to stop the fires of our surreal world,
we need not blame the devil,
for existential demons our own.
A travesty has become our reality,
as we poison our green eyed abode.
now rotting or melting away,
until we live in the black fabric of space.
Our sister planets cannot sustain us,
so the family of man shall be homeless,
wandering the stars so romantic,
reserved for the lovers of our dead society.
