Times change so fast now,
you need not touch to love.
A text, a cell phone, social media,
seems to be the emotion of choice.
Love lasts as long as the batteries,
without them we would smother.
No embrace just a chill to the bone,
no tenderness just push a button.
Humanity is that of a charger,
plugged into convenient wall.
As long as the chord is long enough,
we can communicate emotion.
The world has gotten larger,
because of a cell phone call.
Was love actually that tough,
finding a drop of water in the ocean.
Be that as it may,
we need the passion of a kiss.
A good old fashioned handshake,
to show we are still humankind.
Has technology lead mankind astray?
or is it bringing us closer?
Six of one half a dozen of the other.
let's hope we never lose our humanity. . .
